Route to CE Marking
Independent testing and certification
Introduction
Doing business internationally is increasingly competitive and your product credibility is important to your global success.
Customers want assurance of quality, reliability and safety of products they buy. At the same time the regulation authorities need a valid proof of products’ compliance.
CE Marking
The CE Marking is a trade passport that allows free circulation of products in the European Economic area.
The Marking applies only to products regulated by the European Product Directives. Other products are subject to the General Product Safety Directive and standards and do not require the CE Marking.
Routes to CE Marking
For products associated with greater risk, the CE Marking may only be affixed after successful completion of independent testing and auditing and certification of FPC (Factory Production Control)
This system involves third-party notified bodies including:
- Test laboratory
- Inspection body
- Certification body
What does product testing involve?
- Type testing of a single unit or selected range
- Product performance improvement before the full testing
- Results in technical report and test certificate
- Opportunity to attend and witness your product being tested
