GCAS is one the licensed Assurance Providers. GCAS planning in conducting the engagement involves developing and documenting a clear strategy to collect and assess evidence relevant to the agreed scope of the engagement.The nature and extent of the planning process will vary depending on the purpose and scope of the engagement. GCAS considers at a minimum -The tasks and activities to be performed for deliverables, the evidence gathering requirements, sampling methods, and associated risks, the resource requirements, the schedule for the engagement.
GCAS document the engagement plan that includes, at a minimum: Objectives of the engagement, Deliverables, Assurance standard(s) to be used, Roles, responsibilities, and relationships, Competencies and capabilities, Scope of the engagement, Criteria to be used, Type and level of assurance, Assurance strategy (including risk assessment and evidence requirements), Tasks and activities (including gathering methods, resource requirements, and schedule).
